The APX PERFORMANCE P40 Inner Replacement Cell provides the replaceable salt-cell body and titanium electrode assembly for an existing APX P40 aftermarket replacement cell, model APX-P11-40R. It is intended for use when the electrode assembly has reached the end of its service life but the P40's onboard electronic controller, power cable, and flow switch/sensor remain functional.
Instead of replacing the entire P40 assembly, this model-specific service component allows the reusable electronic controls and sensor components to be transferred to a new cell body. Once properly assembled, it restores the chlorinating portion of the APX P40 while preserving its display, salinity readings, output controls, diagnostic indicators, and existing electrical connection.
Sizing:
The APX P40 inner cell is only compatible with APX P40 aftermarket replacement cells (SKU: APX-P11-40R). This inner replacement cell maintains the original P40 size and chlorine-production rating when installed with the correct APX P40 controller and components. It is not compatible with any other model.

Please note: This product does not include the electronic controller, power cable, flow switch/sensor, power center, or a complete assembled salt cell. Those components must be transferred from a functional APX P40 assembly.

Important: This inner cell is not a replacement part for any other brand or model salt cell, including but not limited to Pentair IntelliChlor® IC40® cells, nor can it be connected directly to an IntelliChlor power center by itself. It is designed only for restoring chlorination for an existing APX P40 assembly with functional APX electronic controls and sensor components. It is not intended for use with the APX P20 or P60.
Installation:
Installation requires removal of the existing APX P40 from the plumbing and transferring its electronic controller and flow switch/sensor to the new inner cell. Before beginning service, completely disconnect electrical power, shut down the pool equipment, and depressurize the plumbing system. Inspect all seals and O-rings during reassembly, hand-tighten the plumbing unions, and check carefully for leaks after circulation is restored.
Because this procedure involves servicing electrical and mechanical components, installation should be completed by a qualified individual in accordance with the APX P-Series instructions and all applicable requirements.
